OK guys walk me through the basic steps of the removal of my Cruisomatic. I understand the disconnect linkage, disconnect and cap fluid lines, disconnect dip stick tube, drop drive shaft, remove cross brace and then.........?

Also can this be done by myself or do I need another set of hands to assist? Shall I ad I have no tranny jack?

Ken - send me your email address or a fax number and I'll send you the pages from my service manual. Do you have a factory service manual for your Bird? You can get one on ebay for less than $20.00 if you find the right auction. If you don't have one you should grab one for later jobs. This removal and install is pretty easy since the Cruiseo can be unbloted from the bell, you don't have to pull the converter.

You should also have a drain plug on the pan so it shouldn't be too messy. If you have some good jack stands and floor jack you should be fine getting it in and out by yourself. We do C4's and C6's solo on the floor with one guy all the time. Get some info for me and I'll send you the paint by numbers instructions. Happy Wrenchin!!

Hey Birdman,

I do have a fax available it's 863-815-6527 pls make it attention Ken Powers. E-mail is KPowers7@tampabay.rr.com

I do have a manual and have been in it non stop since getting the bird.

Part of what I continually fight, even after two pressure washings is about 30 years of Alabama red clay caked in and on everything. You can't even see where the bolts are that connect the tranny to the bell housing. Anyway I did see that my tranmssions' pan has no drain plug.

Have my manual open as we speak and it does seem that 7-27 walkes me through the removal. I guess I wanted to see if in spite of what the manual says how big the project really was.

Looks like all I really need is get hold of a transmission jack for a few days.

Thanks, Do you have an e-mail Where I can correspond with short term questions?

Again, thanks,

Ken
