Vacume door locks.

I took off the door pannels to discover vacume actuaters, (not sure of the correct term) but can't find a rocker switch in the car.

Did ford put the vacume controllers in the doors, and didn't offer it as an option? Can I just get the rocker switch I found on E-Bay? Does my 65 have the switch in an other place. I don't have her up and running yet, and can't get everything to work, yet.Wink

I'm in talks with a local installer of alarms, and he tells me that I can get remote entry, if I have the vacume locks.

Am I going to have to find new/used parts, for all the compenents?

Thanks.Big Grin

It is located on the instrument panel below the air vent controls.

Well, just went to pics of her, and don't see anything. Did the power window controlls have a lock out switch? My friend says that that must be it. I dissagree, but who knows?

Thanks Josnuff.
Took my friend to see that I was looking in the wrong place. I thought that it was under the heater/air, controlls. And I guess it would explain the "D" on it.
I sure have a lot to learn. I'm sure I will be getting my manuals, and all from John, soo.Wink
Peace

I don't think a remote control on the door locks is possible since they are operated by vacuum.

Thanks again Josnuff.

I'm under the same impression, but I found a place out here that's trying to figure out how to do that, with a 66. He's going to get with me on that.

And I took the piece that holds the door switch, and cleaned/painted all the bezals. They were in bad shape, with a lot of pitting. So I painted the sides, black, and left the front edged chrome. It looks great.

Again, thanks for telling me where to look. I almost bought a switch, and all the compnents. That would have been funny, to say the least.

Peace.
