Two years ago I went throught the top controls on my 64 bird and found a bad circuit breaker among other things and then the top worked great - until this afternoon; upon returning from a long ride. When top top went back up the trunk lid did not go down but the locking motors were spinning 5 feet up in the air. Looks like infamous "Rotary Switch" located on the flipper arm is out of adjustment - but why so far off after just an afternoon ride? Maybe this weekend I will tacke the controls again.

Check the "top up" limit switch adjustment. You will have to lower the top and then adjust the actuating bolt "out" so it pushes on the switch plunger.
