I've contacted the local vocational school in my area to see if they will take my 1962 tbird on as a project. I would pay for the materials and they would provide the labor. Although they are students I feel the tearchers are professionals in there trades. I received a response from body & paint so far and I'm waiting for them to confirm they will take this on..Would you guys do this?

You don't really provide much detail regarding the scope or extent of restoration services they would provide. Also, there are costs of parts, materials, fees, etc. Who pays what? How long would the work take and what are the expectations? I would discuss everything very carefully, documenting every single point. Get everything in writing with signatures and dates. Bottom line: My gut tells me that this is scenerio has the potential to start a dandy law suit in which only the lawyers end up happy. JMO BTW, how's the 'bird running now?

As for the scope of work that needs to be done. The body have about five rust spots that need sheet netal work. Other then that its in good shape. I also asked about rebuilding the motor which has 80K on it with some blow by.

As for the other problems I was having it was vapor lock on the new fuel line. I insulated two areas and now the car runs without shutting down. Now I have a hesitation problem and am not sure if it still from the fuel line or is it because i adjusted the carb incorrectly. I adjusted it by the hOlley CD getting the highest vacumm reading. Since then it has that hesitation. Any thoughts?

Kandiapple,

I forgot to mention that I replaced the plugs with new pre-gapped type. I also adjusted the timming from ten over to 6 over. I will try to adjust the timing back to 8 or 10 over to see if the hesitation stops.
