I am a rookie mechanic and have taken my 390 engine pretty much down to bare, but now im to the crankshaft, before I pull it out, just wanted to know if anyone knows how to check for looseness or play while crankshaft is still in the block? Before pulling the crank and pistons etc etc out, is there anyway of checking it for damage, looseness, wear etc etc. If not, please disregard this post.
