My oil pressure gauge went to 1/4 while driving, was reading about 3/4 before. Checking with a mechanical gauge I have 60 at idle, 75 at 2500. Grounding the gauge at the sender, gauge goes to high end of gauge. After putting in new sender I have 1/4 to 1/2 on the gauge. I've tried 2 new senders, first one only showed 1/4 maximum. Is there a problem with the gauge ? The other gauges seem to work ok. 66 Bird, 390This message has been edited. Last edited by: Casey Bakker,

It could be the instrument resistor. It is located behind the dash and can be reached by removing the bezel in the center of the dash that houses the wiper switch etc. It is located just on the left of the opening when the bezel is removed. It may have a bad ground.
