I have no love (noise) from my RR (quarter) window motor. To get to it, it looks like I'll have to removed the back of the rear seat. What else am I in for? Inner panel as well? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

And if I get to it and find that I need a new motor, I've heard that it's the same as the LF door window motor - true?

1967 2-DR Landau. TIA.

Hi....I just replaced both motors on my '66 T-bird convertible rear windows. Motors are not universal... each window, (front, side and rear), has it's own specific motor. "RH" and "LH" will be designated when ordering window motors. The shop manual has a good step-by-step guide on removing and install the windows and motors.
I recommend new motors NOT re-cored or used ones and also suggest getting a new gear assembly drive for each motor. The plastic part of the gear assembly gets hard and a good chance that teeth will break off or have broken off. These assembly drives are cheap compared to the price of the motor and at least you will have a new motor and drive assembly which will help minimize future window problems. Also, use a good quality lubricant to lubricate the rollers and track mechanism before re-installing the window. This will minimize the friction and wear and tear on the drive system.
