I am trying to get my convertable top to work on a constant basis. I goes up and down some times, but not all the time. Now it is stuck in the down position. The mechanic says that the hydaulics are out of adjustment and need to be brought back to factory specs. Where can I find specs that I need or do you think that it is something else?

Get a set of shop manuals and/or the "convertible top manual".
They have everything you need to properly adjust and trouble shoot the top. I found that the flip lid and its limit switch to be the source of most problems. Make sure there is no play in the flip lid when it is up against the trunk lid when the top is in the down position. If there is it drops down slightly and its limit switch will go out of adjustment and the top won't work. See the other post in this forum on a '66 convertible for more info.

I just went to the home page for this site. If you scroll down the left side you will find the convertible top limit switch adjustments. Open that and you will find the adjustments.
