The delay or intermittent aspect of the windshield wiper system on my 1979 T-Bird is failing to function. Does anyone know if the problem is located in the wiper switch or in the wiper motor itself?

Could be a timer ( not really sure what to call it). I know that my '88 F-150 came with standard wipers. In order for me to convert them to intermittent wipers, all I had to do was install the "timer" between the switch and the motor.
