I have a 352 V-8 1958 bird. When the vacuum windshield wipers are in use the engine tends to miss. Anybody know why or am I hearing things

Its sounds as if you have the dreaded Vacume leak!!!
Need to check all the vacume connection, from the switch in the dash to the vacume motor for the wipers.
