can I get a better alternator for the 390 then what is in there now....???

Hi

yes you can put a larger capacity alternator on there. however if yours still has the original alternator then you will have to cut the plug off the harness and install wire ends to connect to the later style alternator.

the 63-64 bird used a special alternator. after that they used the same type into the 80s

mounting will be the same on them.
