I want to remove the Cowling and front Windshield trim (lower & upper only, I've already removed the sides).

How do I remove the wiper arms so I can remove the Cowling? I'm painting the car and want to get paint underneath the Cowling area.

What the technique or tool is needed so I can remove the front windshield trim from the clips? I'm afraid I'll bend it with a screw driver. From the Ford diagrams, it seems if I remove the Cowling, I can access and just unscrew the clips holding the trim.

Thanks!

The lower windsjield mldg has screw clips that are under the cowl panel so youre right you will bend them. Remove the wiper arms, then the chrome trim at the base of them. Unscrew the screws at the edge of the cowl panel(under the hood) remove the screws on the cowl that are hidden with the doors closed and then raise the hood and lift from the frt edge and slide forward. You will see the clips on the mldg as soon as the panel is out.

Great! That all makes sense.

How do I remove the windshield wiper arm then? I can see a clip at the base that I pried up but I could not get the arm to budge.

Thanks much.

Pry the clip like you saw and also pry up on the wiper at the back edge. I use a flat screw driver blade but be careful. The pivot is shaped like a gumdrop so as it raises it will get loose
