You can get the replacement multifunction switch from any auto parts store-cost is around $80 for a new unit. To remove the old one, you'll need to remove the shroud around the steering wheel-tilt the wheel as far up as possible, remove the three screws underneath(phillips-head), pull the lower shroud free, then tilt the wheel down as far as possible and remove the upper shroud. You'll see that the MFS has two bolts that hold it in place, and either two or three pigtails connected to the switch by connectors. Remove the two bolts, remove the pigtail connectors and reverse the process to install the new one. Make sure to look at the connectors-check for any signs that they may have become hot-if you find this, replace the plastic connectors, and you will want to replace the headlight switch ASAP-the breaker in the original headlamp switches is weak, and can cause problems. Got a replacemnt switch f/ Ford, about $94.00. Able to replace quite easily. Pleasantly suprised, thought it would be much more complicated. Thanks for your help Birdman93. | ||
