I have a early 66 conv. and two manuals and just picked up a 65 conv. Does anyone know if the manuals are the same? Also does anyone have any experiance with vinyl dye and a suggestion of what brand to use for good results? Thanks

I used a kit I bought from Larry's Thunderbird. Worked great, it was black. Different from a much earlier restore, Larry had a "prep" spray conditioner that went on first. You could actually see the vinyl slightly puff. Color went down very well.

I don't think Larry's is the only place that sells this stuff.

Mine came out a satin gloss.

A trick I hear about later regarding interior PAINT is the further back you are from the object the less gloss there is on the finish. Don't know if this applies to vinyl dye.
