Howdy yall, I'm new to this site but not to Thunderbirds. My question is when I have my rear deck vent on in my '64 I start to smell gas? Basically I have replaced everything on my car in the 7 years I have owned it. However this problem still eludes me. Any ideas?

They're brand new as of last July, the entire trunk was restored. I really just have no idea what's going on with it.

Have you checked the vent tube on the top of the fuel tank? I noticed your location, "Naches, WA". Yellow jackets/ mud daubers love to plug vent tube openings. Just a thought.

As soon as I get back there I'll check on it, I go to school in Anchorage so I'm a little ways away from it. What does it look like and where is it located? It was a rat infested Bird when it lived out on Bainbridge Island. When we brought it over it was crawling with them, would it be something they could have made off with?

The vent line and the supply line from the fuel tank both have sections of hose. Neoprene is one of the primary food groups of rats, there fore I would not be surprised if they have been snacking on your 'bird.
