I'm had the toughest time winningany am/radio auction on ebay. I would like to have the original am/fm radio that came in the 1963 for my 1962 but it appears that may never happen. So can anyone tell me if they've converted there original am (using the original exterior parts) to an am/fm stereo. I'm getting prices from ELECTRO - TECH, INC has anyone had experience with them on other companies who do this conversionn?

HI Bob, how are you? There are quite a few conversions available on the mainland, here is one but search for more as I don't know how good he is: http://www.bobsradio.com/ Graeme

Doing fine Rhino. Still slowly restoring my 62. The radio issue came up cause my two boys 8 & 5 are tired of listening to talk radio on AM and since I make them ride in the old bird on the weekends I thought I would make it easier for them. Since I can't afford a/c yet I thought I would upgrade the radio. Contacted Bob's out of Cali and got a price, he's a little higher then the other one mentioned above but much closer to Honolulu so I may use him. So did you complete your disc brakes? If so what did you wind up using for the retrofit? Mahalo!

Hi Bob, if you only want to keep the boys happy, they must be iPod aficionados by now? I purchased and am happy with a device called a RediRad ( RediRad Website ) which keeps your AM radio intact and converts iPod or similar signals over the air with no mods at all. Way cheaper than anything else out there too. I did get the disc brakes installed and the car is registered and on the road now...about time! I ended up using disc brakes off a 66 tbird and an adjustable proportioning valve from Wilwood. Only other change was I also used the lower control arms off the 66' and a dual master cylinder. Car stops really well now...here is a link to some photos: Master Cylinder All the best mate, Graeme

Rhino, Good to hear its on the road and yes the two boys have there Ipods. I will look into your recommendations in regards to the Redirad. Presently I have an Fm converter which works ok for now. Saw you pics and it seems the dual master cylinder fit right in there without a problem. I'm still out on which system I will buy but thats my next purchase. I did pick up a couple of "Q" from ebay for a great price triple plated for $200 each. The guy still has some on ebay if you need. keep in touch, Bob
