The inside door handle return spring is broken on my 65 anybody ever rigged up a spring to do the job or know where to get a replacement? Can't seem to find one anywhere.

I have the same problem with my '65 but have not fixed it yet. I have some simple plans to fixt this. It uses a spring attached to the lower part of the inside pivot point and to the door frame. If you want plans, I can probably find a drawing and mail it to you.

I think I have found what you are looking for.

Thunderbird Headquarters www.tbirdhq.com has the (as they call it)Remote Door Lock (Rebuilt)

That doesn't seem like the right name but it sure looks ike the right part.

Hi guys,

the spring that makes the inside door handle return it made as part of that belcrank assy. that bolts to the door. I am looking to see if I have one of these belcranks for that door.

I have seen where a fella did a repair by installing a short spring on the outside of that stamped part. If you look at the way this must work maybe you can fit something in there that will get you by.
