I have a rear window that is stuck in the up position. When I operate either the front or rear switch, there is a whirring sound but no movement. I've tried applying pressure to the window itself but it will not budge.

The Thunderbird Ranch website link to "Technical Stuff" says it might be a bad gear.

I have two questions. Could it be a bad gear and how do I get access to the window motor assembly so I can inspect it and/or replace the gear? I have removed the rear interior panel and some heavy duty paper that looks like a grease shield? I see a black panel with four bolts and can see the motor wires running to the bottom of the panel.

You will have to remove the entire assy, the rears are encased in that black housing. Once its out you can access the motor and replace the gear.
