I have a rear window that is stuck in the up position. When I operate either the front or rear switch, there is a whirring sound but no movement. I've tried applying pressure to the window itself but it will not budge.
The Thunderbird Ranch website link to "Technical Stuff" says it might be a bad gear. I have two questions. Could it be a bad gear and how do I get access to the window motor assembly so I can inspect it and/or replace the gear? I have removed the rear interior panel and some heavy duty paper that looks like a grease shield? I see a black panel with four bolts and can see the motor wires running to the bottom of the panel. |

You will have to remove the entire assy, the rears are encased in that black housing. Once its out you can access the motor and replace the gear.
