attached to the voltage regulator is a small can that looks like an ignition condenser. What is it and where can I get a replacement. I broke the wire off of it trying to clean it up. | ||

Thats just a radio supresion choke. When cars had cooper ignition wires it kept the static out of the radio. You don't need it | |||

That is indeed a condenser. It is intended to suppress RF "noise" from the alternator or generator in older 'birds. They are pretty common and inexpensive. I'd replace it. | |||
