I have a 62 that will not start on its own after 48 hrs or so. If I pour gas in the carb it will start right up. Am I looking at a carb problem or a fuel pump problem? Thanks for any help.

Could be a slow leak of gas from the carb. Some ways to investigate would be to have someone pump the accelerator and see if you getting that little spurt of gas in the carb. If not, remove the "port" from the front/side of carb. It should be a little wet. (This is the port you are supposed to adjust the float until gas just appears.) If it is not wet, loosen the float adjusting nut and start adjusting the float down (count the turns so you can to return to the correct setting). You should see gas come out the port almost right away. If not, you have a leak somewhere. Since the car fires right up, I would doubt the fuel pump is the problem. Those are my ideas. Good luck, Vince
