I have 1965 thunderbird that I'm replaceing the motor, the engine removal and installation manual I have, says to secure the converter, I have no idea what their talking about you can't get to the converter until the motor has been pulled. I have must addmit this is the first ford motor I pulled in years work on mostly chev.

If you look in back of the pan theres a dust cover bolted to the bottom of the bell housing you can remove. Gives you access to remove converter to flywheel bolts. So the converter don't slide off shaft when pulling engine they want you to secure it in bellhousing.
