MY 63 TBIRD SHIFT LEVER IS NOT RIGHT. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN LOW TO GET IT IN DRIVE. WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK IT FEELS LIKE IT IS IN DRIVE, WHEN I PUT IT IN THE GREEN DOT IT IS IN REVERCE? ANY HELP? PLEASE. THIS HAPPENED ALL AT ONCE. THANKS | ||

Hi, yes, I had the same trouble, sounds like the linkage down by the transmission has loosened up a bit? It is well detailed in the workshop manual, however, from memory here is what it says: - loosen from under car the shift linkage and place the gearbox into drive/low, second from the bottom it is - place the gear selector inside drivers compartment to the lowest drive detent, the small green dot which is drive/low - now tighten up the shift linkage making sure the lever does not move and make sure each gear position lines up.
