The fuel filler neck is held in place by 2 flanges and hex head sheet metal screws. The outer flange is just in side the fuel filler door. Note that there is a seal behind the flange. The second flange is inside the trunk, under the mat and a sheet metal cover, to the right of the wheel house. Remove the cover and those screws holding the second flange and then the filler neck should pull out of the tank. Be careful to clean any dirt from the area where the neck enters the tank BEFORE removing it to prevent debris from falling into the tank! There is also a seal inside the fuel tank filler flange- do not lose that. Use extreme caution when working in this area due to the presence of gasoline fumes. An errant spark could ruin your whole day. Stay safe.

Keep in mind the filler tube doesn't just come out without any coaxing...I had to make a tool that would help me pull the tube out. Don't think your going to just grab the filler tube and pull it out...lol
