can anyone advise the correct make/model of 4 barrel should sit atop my 390 FE w/ stock 4 brl manifold. Original is cool, after market is ok too and do I need the stock spacer?

Ken, I used the Holley 510-0-80457sk from Jegs and it works great. The Phenolic spacer dissapates from the manifold so i would use it.

Thanks Bob,

Will the 510-0-80457sk be the mid level cruiser carb for my Bird? Not doing the street pro thing just want a solid sweet cruiser?

Yes it will, Only 600 cfm. Thats how i use my 66 Ragtop. Bsbbob@optonline.net

Did you get the Holley carb on the car yet?
If you did, were any mofications needed or was it a direct bolt on ?

Whats wrong with the Ford 4100, probably one of the best carbs for the 390. I have had one on my 66 since it was new and it still performs very well -- easy to work on and parts available if you need to rebuild it
