anyone repaint/dye there console before ? sand and primer? spray or brush ?its a 78 tbird console i need to repaint saddle.its plastic with a padded armrest. Also where can i find NOS coth material for my 78bird. (it was much eaiser to find parts and products for my 66 bird )
Hi, I have the same problem as you, the console for my '79 needs to be repainted the same color. It looks like metallic bronze, I've seen some close matches at my local auto supply, but I'm going to suggest you go online to www.metropartsmarket.com they have an extensive paint dept. with dupont factory colors for your '78 and '66 bird. My problem is that I could not tell if it was an exact match from the picture provided, but I'm suggesting the site because you may find what you need. If your bucket seats are vinyl with striped cloth inserts like mine, you can get the material in an exact match at www.smsautofabrics.com but be prepared for a jolt, they want $75.00/yard for it, but they also sell NOS vinyl for interior and exterior restoration that will match your '78. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Hi, I forgot to mention that Metro Parts Market has a great "How To" page that will provide you with the proper way to prepare your surface for painting.
