Hi tbird people

This forum is for the discussion of the Tbirdhelp.com website. How it will be set up and what it will all include.

I would like all your ideas so feel free to input all your ideas. No matter how far out, I certainly will consider them. If they are really heavy stuff I may ask for some help in implementing them so if you have any expertise in doing some of these things let me know that also.

Keep in mind that this site is about the technical side of owning a Thunderbird. It will be accessed by people who will want answers to questions about Thunderbirds. This site will not be for the display and entertainment side of things so there will not be things like music and animation. Things must be able to be accessed easily and in a very timely manner no matter what speed connection people have.

With that said, lets here from you now.

I would also consider setting the site up into Tbird years. Stuff for the Flair birds, Bullet birds and so forth. Try to expand your forums a little now, but not too much. If you put too much up at this point you will look like a slow, unused site. If you can offer more forums, but keep the site compact it will look busier to visitors.

I would also go to any tbird site you can think of and email any email address you can find on it inviting those peopel to come join us. Go to any site Tbird site, email the folks that may have sign a guest book, anyone that may have left a email addy in a registry entry. Look for a tbird web ring and email those sites. These are a few thigns that can be done. This is how I got my forums and the ones I ran be4 that off the ground.

OK? Where is the site admin? I have posted some thoughts withno reply? I posted them on the 4th of this month. Note to be rude, but if you want this site to take off one must try to be active in it. You can't set it up and hope that folks will come to it. Ya need to surf the web for Tbird sites, email the owners of those sites and invite folks here. Look for Tbird registries and email the folks listed there if emails are listed. YOu have to INVITE folsk to come here and check it out. Once they are here if they post you have to reply to them. The death of a site like this is for folks to come around, post and not get a reply. They won't come back if that happens.

John,

Have you thought about a chat room area? This way if there are a couple members on they can chat.

I run a chat room for my www.yesfans.com site via the AOL IM service. The remote IM service.

Well, fellas

I am here, just been wonderfully busy. I never complain about too much work. am glad to have it.

about the ideas for the site, I appreciate all the input and am trying to sort all of it out in my head and wondering how to incorporate each idea into these sites.

I am not a programer so some of the things I have to research out to see how to accomplish them when it comes to building the website.

I want to be able to use drop down menus to choose the year and the topic for the technical articles and diagrams but need to learn a bit more about that stuff before I can go to far on the expansion of the website.

Regarding these forums I appreciate the input also and need to take the time here to do a bit more setup. I know that it would be nice to have the questions answered right away when a person posts one but none of us have the time to be monitoring the board and the expertise to have all the answers at their fingertips.

the main purpose of these boards is to be able to access as many people as possible with a problem so that somewhere one of them may have an answer and be able to share with all the others. this is a bit different than some of the other message boards in that respect. The experts are actually all the readers. Each one has some specific knowledge in different areas and when their topic gets mentioned they get the opportunity to give the answers that are needed.

Hope this helps give you all some idea of what I am trying to accomplish with this board.

I will be expanding the topics as I go, hopefully to reflect some of the areas that will be covered n the website. That way they will work together to help people find the answers they need.

I gotta tell ya - this is just what I've been looking for. There is a terrifc site like this for Lincoln Mark VIII owners (www.markviii.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi) - it's been up for sometime and has a HUGE community with a wealth of knowledge and advice. With time, I think we'll have the same here. Check out the link - it's very well organized.
