i have a 59 tbird with 1973 429 in it located upstate pennsylvania will run and drive in yard has some surface rust and has had patch panels installed but basically solid want to sell for 1500 firm or trade for 1956 ford with useable body

I am Wes and am wrighting to find out 1st, if you still have the 59 Thunderbird and if you do would a trade interest you at all. Something quite a bit different from ford. I have a 1979 Ford F-250 4x4 HD unit. with all the HD factory goodies available at the time. Since the largest motor Ford pit in it's 4 wheel drives till 1983 was the 400 2V. I removed it an replaced it with a rebuilt (no paperwork on overhaul) 1972 460 4V from a Lincoln. The motor is in and runnes better than expected, the powertrain is sutable for about 700+ HP with very minor upgrades.Howerver the passender side manifold(Exhuast)will not fit unless the trucks frame has serious cutting done into it. I will not do it or have it done. That leaves two options a 460 E-series Van Manifold (passenger exhuast) fits fine past the trucks frame or for a few dollars more well couple hundred more! A set of swap headers are made by several manufactures. The motor is easily upgraded to a 514 CID, and for more money 600 CID.A 514 with moderately high performance parts(good hot street or offroad motor) running on pump fuel is an easy 600+ HP.
