i just bought a pretty nice 60 t bird, 352 or a 430 im not sure which but i think its a 352. solid body just needing a coat of paint and some touch ups (only thing it needs new is one of the fin tips because its missing) all original interior in perfect condition. the starter is acting up and the power branks vacume doesnt work but otherwise everything else is fine engine wise(the engine itself was rebuilt) its had a underbody spray and such. my questions are you guys got any suggestions for me and i cant decide on black or white (the colors of the interior) thanks

What colour is the exterior?
Actually no matter what it is, I would say black. White is very nice and classy, but have you ever tried keeping white clean? Forget about it.

You don't necessarily need to know the name of the part. Call John Draxler he may have the part and can work off your description. Also, if John doesn't have it, call some of the folks listed in the Parts Suppliers section on Thunderbird Ranch home page. Pat Wilson's, Bird Nest etc. have been really helpful, they too do not need an exact name but will work from your description.

Your braking and steering problems are classic indicators of the need for maintenance or repair. I am not familiar with the car but you could have something as "simple" as a vaccuum leak, or you may need to get a new brake booster, wheel cylinder, steering pump etc. If you are not familiar with the diagnosis, take the car to your mechanic and pay him to do it. Then decide how much you want to do.

Definitely agree, you don't want to drive this car until you can get it steer and stop reliably. Have fun.

yeah my dad did something similar to that. he called a place that specialized in t birds and its called a cat's eye. what a name....... but the vacum in the brakes is good though the steering needs to be tightned up a bit. but all we need to do yet is to patch a hole in the trunk put the weather striping on and a new power window motor, put the new cats eye on, sand it down, and fix a rust spot in the trunk and right behind the bumper(only rust spot on the underbody) and then it will be ready to paint. we will probably sell it though since i need a everyday driver.... but oh well i will find myself another project car even though i will miss the square bird. my question is this how much would a 1960 t bird with all numbers matching and it being in perfect condition go for?

What's it worth? That is a real good question. You can look in Hemmings and get the (high) range. Again, I would call John Draxler he probably has a good an educated response as anyone. Might influence how you do the repaint. Your location in the 'united states' might have a big impact.
