Hi everybody,
I'm gonna ride a '71 tbird (this saturday is fixed the vision and the test drive with a friend of mine that ownes US cars).
Anyway, I'd like to have suggestions from you in order to avoid to have bad surprises.
So please can you tell me which are the most common "problems"within the engine, transmission, electrical part et cetera?
Thank you so much for your help (tha car is fully restored and should be quite 100% original...)

These cars do not have many parts suppliers even in the U.S. If anything is missing, you should assume its not available when you negotiate price. The car should have a 429 cubic inch (7 liter) engine. Engine, transmission and rear differential are pretty durable and parts are available for them. Like most cars of the era, it can get rusty. Check behind the wheel wells and in the trunk. If its been repaired, it should have been with steel. (you might bring a little magnet and see if it sticks to the body in those places) Check the frame rails under the car for rust. These can be repaired but it is expensive.
