| Hello guys. I finally got around to taking some pictures of a my 66 Bird. I bought the car back in January and have been going through the vehicle slowly and fixing many of the electrical bugs and other mechanical issues. The Bird has 54000 original miles on it and remains mostly un-restored save for a re-paint somewhere down the road in the factory two-tone color. The car was bought in, and has lived in Oregon since it was purchased new. It even has the original 66 Oregon license plates on it. Its a town hardtop (obviously) Q-code car w/ the original 428 motor. It has the stereosonic 8-track sound system and factory fender skirts. At this point, I have gotten almost all of the issues worked out. The sequentials works (thanks to the solid-state replacement electronics in the trunk), The power windows and seat work, all the vacuum operated bits work (e-brake, door locks, rear vents), Everything in the overhead console works except the for the emergency flashers.... For some reason I am not getting any voltage at the fuse... but I have replaced the broken overhead console switch and the two trunk relays. The only electrical issues that remain are the non-functioning clock, the 8-track player, and the emergency flashers. For the drivetrain- I had the heads rebuilt with hardened valve seats, new valves, springs etc etc. The exhaust manifolds were refinished and the heads and manifolds re-faced for a perfect fit. The transmission shifts smooth but has a slight which drips out of the converter housing.... For the interior, it is mostly solid with the exception of a split in the middle of the driver seat, headliner vinyl separating from the fiberboard backing, and the door panels which have the typical wear on and around the door pull cups.... Anyways, enjoy the pics!. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Bill C, |
