Alrite troops, I need your help.

My '62 does not have the original plates. The only plates I want on
my cars are the original ones or personalized ones. So I need your
help with Ideas!

So far this is what I have:

UNI BOD
UNIBODY (These sound sexual)
NOFRAME
TITBIRD (I don't think that's 'gona fly)
PCHBIRD
PCHBRD
HWYBRD
HWYBIRD (these seem kinda stupid). But I'm very found of PCH
(Pacific Coast Hwy) runs along the California Coast from San Diego
to Oregon. I hang out and love cruisin' PCH.
BIGBIRD (seems more appropriate on the older T-birds)
BULTBRD
RCKTBRD (to me looks more like a rocket than bullet)
2DRRCKT

I really like the unibody reference, everything else seems OK.

What do you guys think? Suggest? What do YOU have on your plates?

My 65 Thunderbird is "65Tbird". I thought that would cut down on the question, "What year is it?"

My summer driver, a 95 TransAm convertible has "MY NAME". I always wanted my name on a red convertible.

I've also heard of "NOTYORS", "NOT 4U"
The possibilities are endless.

I always liked two I saw a few yers ago:

IDNTNO
IFORGOT

That way when the cop calls in your plate and they ask for the license number, he will say "I Don't Know" or "I Forgot."

But I am looking to do my two birds, my '85 and '72, I was thinking about:

BLKBRD1
BLKBRD2

Since they are both black.

If you can't get there in a Thunderbird, the trip isn't worth taking!

I dont know how your state is but in Florida you can register your cars with old plates. The state has to authenticate them and then they will reissue them to you. I just moved last year from there but I had found a guy who had plates that had never been issued so I got one for my 65 hardtop and 1 for my 65 Special Landau. The best part was they were in numerical sequence. They had a number and letter for the county and weight class and then a 5 digit plate number. Now since moving to NY I had to find a plate to do it again, I got it but they arent in sequence, oh well

They'll use the phoenit alphabet i.d. "India Delta November Tango November Oscar" when reading your plates over the radio.

Not familiar with California (do know it is "freest" most regulated state). Some states allow you to find a set of plates, '65 in your case, and allow you to register them to the car. They are treated as historic plates. So, you also need to check the regs on these.

Technically in Missouri with historic plates you are only supposed to drive the car to or from an event. Not supposed to be used for everyday driving. However, I have not heard of anyone getting a ticket. Assume the Highway Patrol has better things to do.

regards, Vince

Everyone call a T-Bird a thunderchicken. I call my 1968 Tudor "Thunderhog'. It has T-HOG as its plate
