I received my 1965 Thunderbird as a wedding present from my grandpa. He is not in good health at all and do see the car comlete again before his time runs out. I am in need of any info/contacts/websites on how to restore my bird to proper working condition.

Pretty wide open question as there is no information on what is needed. One thing to do is join Vintage Thunderbird Club International and the local chapter. This gives you nice network.

You could also contact John Draxler, the sponsor of this site, and tell him what you think need to be done and he might give you some local leads. Another person I have met is an Owen White who lives just south of Iowa City. His email is NOWhite@hotmail.com. He does a lot of his own work and may also have advice on local shops.

If you are looking for parts and things, go to the suppliers section on the Thunderbird Ranch site or VTCI site and you will find good sources .

Given your urgency, you might want to make the car look nice for now and come back and do a more drastic restore later.

If you do not have them, buy the shop manuals from John. You or your mechanic will find them very useful.

Good luck and have fun with your Tbird.
