So I found a deal close by on and ended up buying a 1969 Thunderbird Today. Metallic Forest Green and in, Excellent Mechanical condition, needs a bit of work exterior. And a bunch interior, basically carpet, the front seats possibly, some dash. Electronics/wiring work such as the sequential tail light turn signal needs to be redone. Its a really good score. I plan on redoing the electronics, the softop, rubber trim/molding and drains, new paint, and a bunch of other things to clear up as many of the current issues as possible. I'd like to update the ac/heater system to something modern as well. The 429 Thunderjet sounds absolutely beastly.
Now for pics

After Wash and a few test spots of cut polish

Good luck with the repairs! Had a '67 Coupe not all that long ago and almost nothing for these cars was being made, we needed a wiring harness and couldn't get one so away it went to the boneyard. Was a shame too it was a 428, A/C, coupe. I have heard that they are starting to reproduce some things for it though. However once you're done you should be having some fun. As I said before good luck!

Hey thanks. I'm sure if worse came to worse I would run em myself. All it need right now for fun is getting the signals and the right brake light/rear running lights going. The guy said the ac/heatercore worked when it was disconnected so reconnecting it and replacing the ac unit will go a long way. =) Gonna take a peek into that here and start making some calls. Just got back from vacation. Pullin dirtbikes/atv in the trailer with the New Yorker to property in the interior. That car's electrical system is haunted though, I swear.

It seems these birds have elecrtical problems. My '67 is still in the junkyard with as far as I know with it's complete operational A/C system out in Yakima, WA just an overnight trip from where you are at. I could get someone to take a look if you were interested in getting some extra parts for it.

Hehe thanks for the offer, I'll let you know if there is anything I need. Chance so happens that there is another 67 w/o a rear diff end and bad frame rot in the back but it comes down to a lack of space right now. Today was my first day really looking it over (found a few hours of time)... Looks like the lighting problems might be easier to fix than I first thought. Bunch of cracked and shoddy replacement wires. What I'd really be interested in is a dash. This one has some good cracks in the vinal.

Oh and btw which email addy is the easiest to reach john at?

I will PM you the email I use to get in touch with him. Is yours a blue interior? Mine was perfect with good door panels for a coupe yet again just let me know and I can have someone scope it out for you.

Black, with the leather bench seats. I wonder if its possible to modify the inner door panels to be used in the 4dr... My dads is a trucker and I could probably ask him to take a look if he is going through there. (Generally stays within WA and OR if he isn't up here.)
Where is it and I can pass on the information to the old man.

It's in a boneyard called Webers right outside Yakima WA. If he's around the area just ask him to take a few min to check it out it shouldn't be that hard to find in the yard, those guys don't crush stuff. Hopefully you guys can grab some stuff!
